Does anyone know if there is a a specific cutoff for bad credit where they won’t even think about giving you a loan? Or if you’re willing to deal with a really high interest rate, and you’ve been doing pretty well on all you’re credit payments over the last few months and you have a really good job with very few other financial obligations (no mortgage) will they be at all willing to work with a bad credit score. And by bad, i mean about 520-560. yeah it’s embarrasing. I was a stupid teenager that didn’t have any idea what a credit score even was. But now I’m fully educated on how credit works and i’m trying to get my score back up. Oh and the amount of the loan would probably be under $8,000, or less if it needs to be. Is Bankruptcy really that bad?
I have $35,000 in credit card debt alone – not counting my car or house. I have little to speak of for assests. I have consulted with a law office and found out I’m eligible to file for Chapter 7 and was actually told by the lawyer that I’d be dumb if I didn’t. The builder owns the land, and it is in Chicago area. They are builidng 15 customized houses (although we have limited/no choices at our price point). These are high end houses in a prime location close to the lake. Although they have had limited success in being able to sell these houses. We really like the house and location. Also there is no non performing penalty for the builder, so they can not deliver the house and just return the deposit. I.e. if the market egts better next year at the time of delivery and someone offers them more money, they can get out of the contract and just return my deposit. The builder is reputed, and build lot of communities."

okay here is what happened they dont wanna take care of me any more they say i dont belong in their family and culture. so far they said we will call the cops and kick u out if u dont dont break things. laptop $700 ( i paid for it) (at 3:00AM)i was sleeping they woke me up. parents come they say u have to break your laptop we cant see u with it anymore. cuz i forgot to take out the trash. so i had to break it with my bear hands and i couldent use a hammer. cellphone ($300) (I paid for it) i was sleeping. my parents were talking about getting rid of it. My dad got scared of what i might do and he made me come back. I was 14 years old he kicked me out. I lived in group home for 1 year came back at 15. Ok the reason for all this is because i deny the coulture and relegion of theirs. And due to muslim standards things are really stricted. My parents never praying in their life but their coulture hunts me. they are trying their best to make me not have any resouces so when i get kicked out i will have to end up on the streets. What’s the best route to default on a motorhome loan?
We have a motor home that we purchased in 2005/2006 for about $237k. We owe $197k. We are just now late on our 1st payment because my husband is a framer and can’t find work in this economy and hasn’t for quite some time. I have a few credit cards that are maxed out and one that has a lot of room left on it. Building Credit – How am I doing?
I just paid off my main credit card, and requested and received a credit limit increase, from $1,500 to $5,000. I also applied for and was approved for a second credit card, with a limit of $5,000. My only other debt is under $1,000 on a jewelery store credit card. I have very little credit history, but my score is good, according to creditkarma.com (how accurate is that, does anyone know?), around 750. According to the website, I can make up to 4 more hard inquiries into my credit before it will negatively affect me. One of the negative things affecting me is the short average age of my accounts. I know opening that second card will negatively affect that further. However, I figured the available credit/used credit ratio would balance that out a bit. My main question at this point is whether I should apply for another credit card, to further expand my available credit, that way I can sit back and wait for the accounts to age, or if I should let this new one age, and then open a new one some years down the line? I’m worried that if I go with the second option, I’ll be stuck in a sort of yo-yo pattern, where I keep on raising and lowering the average age of my account. Seems to me I should open my intended amount of credit cards, and then stop and let them age (I plan to have one bill automatically paid by each credit card, and I’ll pay off the balance each month). Can a mortgage company change the locks on your house if you are not in foreclosure?
We live in Indiana, and have a rental property that is between renters right now. Our mortgage company, American Service Company, sent out a property preservation service rep. to the house, and the inspector incorrectly assumed we had abandoned the house. Then they proceeded to break into the house and changed the locks. One of the doors was damaged, and won’t even latch now, let alone lock, so our house is not secure now. Do we have a legal leg to stand on by taking these people to court? We are behind in our payments, but have not received any papers on foreclosure or any kind of eviction notices. The mortgage company claims that it can do what it wants with the property because the inspector reported that it was unoccupied. This same inspector ransacked the house and garage before changing the locks and damaging the door."

Chapter 7 Bankruptcy or just Foreclosure?
My mother-in-law’s situation: 1) 72 years old. Single. 40 year old deadbeat son living in her spare bedroom. 2) Owns home with $120K loan balance on a realistic value of $85K. No other debt. 3) Her total income(social security + small pension) is about equal to her fixed costs (mortgage, tax, insurance, utilities) 4) She has been draining her small savings to pay for food, emergency repairs, uncovered medical expenses. That balance is approaching zero. 5) No assets other than household goods and an old car. Desired outcome: 1) Get out of house and rent small apt with no room for son, lower rent, vs mortgage payment, close to daughter. 2) Get rid of car. 3) No need for decent credit other than to get apartment lease started. She’s never going to buy anything that would require credit. Bottom line is she needs to lower her monthly fixed costs, get rid of parasitic son and move closer to my wife and I for logistical and financial help. So my question is does she really need to declare Chapter 7 or can she just do a foreclosure and walk away? I believe a simple foreclosure is the best thing for her; simpler and less stress. Any other thoughts and things she needs to consider? I’m looking at this as a simple process: 1) Rent apartment and start utilities. 2) Move. 3) Stop paying mortgage. 4) Deal with bank on foreclosure but I don’t really know what she has to lose by just ignoring them.
